BITCOIN HITS $100K: TRUMP’S PRO-CRYPTO POLICIES SPARK UNPRECEDENTED SURGE

Bitcoin has broken the $100,000 barrier, fueled by a wave of investor optimism following U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s surprising pro-crypto shift. The cryptocurrency climbed to an astonishing $103,800, marking a 50% increase since Trump’s November election victory.

The rally gained momentum after Trump appointed crypto advocate Paul Atkins to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), signaling a potential shift toward a friendlier regulatory landscape. Atkins' nomination, coupled with Trump’s vow to make the U.S. the "Bitcoin superpower of the world," has sent ripples across the market.

Market sentiment has been electrified, with industry leaders celebrating the milestone. “Bitcoin reaching $100k is an incredible milestone for our movement,” said Kris Marszalek, CEO of Crypto.com. “We never doubted. We never wavered. And we will never stop building.”

Adding to the crypto-friendly momentum, Trump also named Howard Lutnick for the Commerce Department and Elon Musk to co-lead the newly established "Department of Government Efficiency," humorously nicknamed “DOGE” after Dogecoin, which has surged 150% since election day.

Bitcoin's meteoric rise is a sharp contrast to the downturn two years ago when the collapse of FTX and harsh regulatory actions pushed the coin to a low of $16,000. Now, institutional investments are flooding the market. BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF has amassed $45 billion in assets, and $4.4 billion has flowed into crypto ETFs since November.

Cameron Winklevoss, co-founder of Gemini, described the optimism, saying, “This bitcoin bull run is different. We have a pro-tech president-elect, a red Senate, a red House, and a mandate from the country to build.”

Major players like MicroStrategy are capitalizing on the optimism, announcing plans to raise $42 billion for additional Bitcoin investments. Analysts are dubbing this a “golden era” for digital assets as pro-crypto policies become a central part of the incoming administration’s agenda.

Recent reports showed Bitcoin surging past $80,000 and $90,000 in quick succession after Trump’s election, with the price sitting at $102,724.32 as of early Thursday, up over 7% in 24 hours. Trump’s pivot from skepticism during his previous administration to full-fledged support for cryptocurrencies has been instrumental in the rally.

The president-elect has pledged to retain all government-held Bitcoin, replace SEC Chair Gary Gensler, and bolster the U.S. crypto sector’s global dominance, solidifying his position as a driving force behind Bitcoin’s historic rise.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
